    The Turtlesザ・タートルズ

    サウンドの形容方法として頻繁に用いられる表現、“60年代的な〜”。言い換えれば、“リヴァプール（ブリティッシュ・インヴェイジョン）、もしくはそれらの香りを内包したバカ旨ハーモニー・ポップス、を思わせる〜”ってこと。で、もっとも象徴的な60'sサウンドを鳴らしたアメリカのグループは？ と聞かれれば、一も二もなく、このタートルズを挙げたい。メープル・シロップをぶっかけたアイスクリームのごとく甘いメロディ、完璧なコーラス・ワーク、ドラマ性全開のアレンジメント、適度にサイケな音作り……。彼ら（作曲家陣含め）は３分半のポップ・マジックを作りあげる手法を完全に知り尽くしていたのだ。67年の大ヒット作『HAPPY TOGETHER』で、60'sの醍醐味をこころゆくまで堪能していただきたい。
