    痛々しいほど痩せた体躯にレスポールを引っさげ、それこそ鳥肌が立つほど美しい旋律をつま弾くヴィニ・ライリー（＝ドゥルッティ・コラム）。
    ファクトリー・レコードのオリジナルバンドであるドゥルッティ〜の歴史は78年にまでさかのぼるが、当時はドラム、リズム・ギターを擁した３人編成であった。以降ひとりになったライリーは、伝説的プロデューサー、マーティン・ハネットやブルース・ミッチェル（ex.アルバート）とセッションを行いながら、ギタリストとしての手腕におそるべき加速度で磨きをかけていく。エコー・ボックスとリヴァーヴ、アルペジオに究極のこだわりをもつ彼のプレイは、聴く者を清らかな天上界へ誘い込むかのようだ——。
    そして、フル・ストリングスやホーン・セクション、リズム・シンセサイザー、サンプリング、果ては中近東的エッセンス……までを導入しながらも、頑なに貫かれているのは、清らかでいて、どこまでも深い情念だ。……生まれつき体の弱い彼が掲げるテーマは、常に"死"——そして"性"なのである。キーツの詩をもとにした壮大な組曲やアンビエント寄りの作品など、その時々で表層的なイメージを変換しつつも、彼はいつも人間のもつ「陽と陰」をえぐり続けているといえるだろう。
    このあまりに脆弱で、それでいて孤高の精神を持したライリー・ワールドは、俗世間のすべての垢を洗い流すような効果をもっている。
